26.1. Kaikoura
We had a lot of rain on the day but also a few nice spells with overcast, especially on the booked Whale Watching Tour on the rocky boat which was my biggest worry to have all these vomiting people I dont really need to deal with hahaha
Lucky enough, our Whale Tour was confirmed and so the good weather (acceptable conditions) it was not too windy that day and we saw whales!

Drive to Blenheim, Picton Ferry
I was very excited about the upcoming Whale watching as I never saw a whale and find these sea mammals just majestic. Can't wait for it to happen (if weather holds)
Ich war sehr in Vorfreude wegen der Walbesichtigungstour denn ich habe bislang noch keinen Wal mit eigenen Augen gesehen. Diese Tiere finde ich sehr majestaetisch und konnte es kaum abwarten.
Die Wetterbedingungen hielten sich im Rahmen und die Tour wurde bestaetigt.
The weather allowed for the whale watching tour to go ahead and was confirmed.
Nach einer Weile wurde der erste Wal gesichtet. Ich war ganz emotional beruehrt uber deren Groesse
After a while the first whale was sighted and I was emotionally touched to finally see a large one
After a few minutes on the water surface whales spew a spray and then dive vertically down.
Nach ein paar Minuten auf der Wasseroberflaeche, Wale spruehen eine Wasserfontaine bevor sie dann vertikal abtauchen.
Just not long after another whale showed and I was so amazed to see them in real. I think it was quite close to them. The boat crew had devices on board and an audiometer was held into the water to track their sounds and singing to find them and get close to them for the sighting.
Nicht lange und ein weiterer zweiter Wal zeigte ich und ich war sehr beeindruckt diese in echt zu sehen, auch recht dicht dran. Die Bootsmannschaft hatte Audiogeraete dabei die ins Wasser gehalten wurden um deren Gesang festzustellen in welche Richtung sie schwimen und wo man sie finden kann.
Wir waren mal dekadent und hatten uns Languste gekauft... Eine lokale von hier ist frisch aus dem Meer und soll seeehr lecker sein. Hatte ich noch nicht.. wir genossen es spaeter auf der Faehre.
We were a bit over the top and bought a lobster, which are locally from here are the best so I got told. I never had one.
We ate it later on the ferry.

Kaikoura Top10 Holiday Park, Studio 22
I had absolutely NO interest in anything unpacking and rummaging at all and had enough of the camping scenario, so spontaneously decided to change the tent space to a Studio! It was just right to get some clothes and that's it! All the camping gear can stay in the car :)
Ich hatte absolute KEINE Lust mehr noch wieder einmal alles an Zeltsachen aus - und einzupacken, aufbauen, abbauen und rumkramen, somit hatte ich spontan nachgefragt ob eines der Studios frei ist. JA, so war es und ich hatte nichts dagegen extra hundert Dollar zu zahen fuer die Bequemlichkeit und ein tolles Bett. Nur etwas Kleidung und die Campingsachen koennen heute im Auto bleiben. :)
Isn't it perfect! Easy for Dani to get around too, I didnt care about the extra hundred anymore and wanted a comfortable night, aaaaaaaaah - that was !!
Ist das nicht perfekt, fuer Dani einfach zu erreichen und mir waren die extra hundert dollar am Ende auch egal, dafuer hat mein ein gutes bequemes Bett, aaaaaaaaaah - so gut!

Dann ging es ueber Hikurangi weiter in den Norden der Suedinsel nach Blenheim
We drove further north through Hikurangi to Blenheim on the north of the South Island

hier hat sich eine ganze Menge getan seit ich das letzte Mal hier war (ist auch wieder Jahre her)

I would have loved to take my scooter around here, would be an amazing scooter-loop
Hier wuerde ich gerne meinen E-Roller ausfahren, waere bestimmt eine tolle Runde gewesen
Dann ging es weiter nach Picton, die Faehre kommt dort im Foto schon angefahren!
And we had our ferry ride ahead of us, the ferry arrives already in the photo below!

Auf der Faehre hatten wir dann die erstandene Languste geteilt. Die Dinger sind super teuer hier!
Das hier ist ne gute Hand gross und hat ueber $50 NZ Dollar gekostet!
On the ferry we had a real feast with this lobster we bought earlier today. We shared as these things are super expensive and the one below has the size of a hand and cost us $50 NZ Dollars!
Anschliessend hatten wir unsern Favoriten endeckt! Tueten Camping Apfelstrudel. Bring ich mal mit wenn ich wieder auf Deutschlandbesuch komme. Lecker!
Afterwards we decided on our favourite camping bagged food item which was the apple pie. I will bring one when I am next about for a visit!
Schnelle Mahlzeit fuer Abenteuer, siehste...schmeckt!
Unsere Faehrenueberfahrt war am Abend und gluecklicherweise war die See wieder ruhig. Leute koennten eher kotzen wenn es dunkel ist und die nix sehen... Gut das es alles eine glueckliche Ueberfahrt war ohne sauren Magenstink.
The ferry trip was easy despite it was dark and its more likely that people start to vomit once they cant see and the boat is rocking. Luckily it was calm sea and an easy ride without internal sour smell haha.

NEXT DAY - DER NAECHSTE TAG
26.1. Return tour ueber SH4 (Landstrasse 4)
Wir hatten Verspaetung mit der Faehre und kamen spaeter als erwarten in Wellington an. Zum Glueck hatten wir eine Nacht im Mercure Abel Tasman Hotel gebucht. Es ging so ziemlich direkt ins Bett denn es war bereits elf uhr nachts.
Am naechsten Morgen war Aufbruch fuer den Weg nach Hause und hatten nicht allzuviele Fotos gemacht. Zum einen waren wir hier bereits auf der Hintour und es gab nicht allzuviel spannendes zu sehen. Es war eher ein Durchfahren mit einer 8-Stunden Autofahrt. Ich wollte gerne zeitig zu Hause ankommen und auf gar keinen Fall schon wieder spaet abends erst ankommen. Ich wollte auf jeden Fall zu Gracie nach den gut 2 Wochen und musste am naechsten Tag wieder zur Arbeit.

Driving home via SH4
Our ferry trip had a delay and we arrived late in Wellington but luckily we had a 1-night booking in the Mercure Abel Tasman Hotel. We ended up in bed straight away as it was already past 11pm..
The next day was the last day trip in driving home and I didn't take any photos as we had some from the first day and there was not too much to see really. It was rather an 8 hours drive home as I had enough traveling by now and just wanted to arrive in time and not again so very late. I had to work next day and definitely wanted to see Gracie that evening this was important to me.

I would say this was the highlight of the entire trip.
This tour to the Abel Tasman was the most beautiful road in New Zealand which I have not seen before and believe it or not:
I am here for 13 years.
I need to give credits to Dani as she is an awesome safe driver who was willing to drive the entire NZ around without a moan: THANK YOU DANIELLA !!!!!
It was a trip with over 4000 kilometers!
Letzte Anmerkung
Ich glaube das war mein Highlight des Trips.
Diese Tour zum Abel Tasman war wohl die schoenste Strasse Neuseelands die ich bislang noch nicht geshen hatte und wohlbemerkt:
Ich bin hier seit 13 Jahren.
Und natuerlich muss ich ein Dankeswort an Dani erteilen und ihr hoch anrechnen das sie alles bereit wahr zu fahren: DANKE DANIELLA !!!!!
Es waren ueber 4000 Kilometer einmal um Neuseeland herum :)

Und zu Guter letzt: Ich hatte ganz vergessen wieviel Spass man mit "Stadt-Land-Fluss" haben kann (hihi)
