Deutsches Restaurant

Am Donnerstag waren wir (Katja & Andrew und ich) gemeinsam bei einem Deutschen Restaurant.
On Thursday I went with Katja & Andrew to a German Restaurant.

Lecker! Schoenes Stueck Rinderbraten mit Zwiebeln und Kartoffelsalat.

Yummy! I had a nice juicy roast with onions and potato salat.

2 Bourke babies

Am 15.3.2023 waren wieder 2 kleine Papageien Küken bei den Bourkes geschlüpft. Dieses Mal waren beide rosa und wurden Hand gezähmt.

On the 15.3.2023 I had 2 little parrot babies from the Bourkes and both are rosy in colour. I'm handling and taming them as they both need to find new homes soon.

Etwa 1 Woche - ich sehe nur 1 Kueken

About 1 week and I see only 1 chick

Then the following week 2 there is another little birdy in the nest.
Dann eine weitere Woche ist ein zweites Papageienkueken im Nest.

Dank der Nestcamera kann man immer mal nachsehen ob alles in Ordnung ist. Diese 2 sind schon fasst 3 Wochen und werden bald aus dem Nest kommen.

I'm glad I have the nest cam to check they're still ok. These 2 are about 3 weeks and almost ready to fledge the nest.

Nachdem eines Nachmittags das linke aus dem Nest gefallen ist, hatte ich beide mal rausgeholt und auf den Teppich gesetzt. Das rechte ist eine Woche juenger

One day, the more rosy birdy fell out of the nest and I took both out, placed them on the carpet. The one on the right is a week younger.

Papageien Show Whangarei Town Basin & Langs Beach

Am 23.4.2023 we die große jährliche Vogelschau mit Papageien Verkauf. Da es in der Nähe von Carsten war, bot es sich an Mal 3std hochzufahren.

Papageien habe ich nicht gekauft aber bin mit 2 Wachteln nach Hause gekommen.

On the last Sunday 23 April was the annual Bird and Parrot Sale Show in the Northland near Carsten. I decided to go and drove 3 hours up.

I didnt buy any parrots but came home with 2 new quails.

Here were a lot of different species to see... small parrots, large parrots

above are Sun Conures, below a Macaw (Ara)

Es waren viele verschiedenen Papageienarten anwesend. Kleine Papageien wie oben: Sun Conure (Amazonen) oder der grosse Ara)

Es gab viel zu sehen und ich hab bei der Tombola mal mitgemacht und was gewonnen :)

There was lots to see and I bought some raffle tickets and even won something :)

Dann ging es mit den scootern durch Whangarei um den Town Basin herum an den Booten entlang. Immer schoen und idyllisch finde ich.

Then a scooter ride while its dry. Went around Whangarei Town Basin loop around the harbor and along the water where the boats are. Its always idyllic and a nice area.

Then a litte off-road along the river.. a bit challenging at times as my scooter doesnt do so well on uneven ground..

Die Tour ging weiter dem Fluss entlang und etwas abseits durch Wanderwege die nicht befestigt waren. Nicht mein bevorzugtes Fahrgebiet da mein scooter nicht so gut auf Schotter und Erde faehrt.
