Cycling Tour from my home village Sellstedt to the nearest city Bremerhaven, to Spaden, Leherheide and back through Spaden and Laven via Bramel to Sellstedt with a stopover at the Great Moor Lake and the viewing tower at Polder Glies in the nature reserve.

The Town Musicians of Bremen - Bremer Stadtmusikanten

English: 

The Town Musicians of Bremen are based on a fairy tale story by the German Brothers Grimm. It tells the story of four aging domestic farm animals, who are neglected and mistreated after a hard work life by their former masters.  They decide to run away and then form a musical troupe in the town of Bremen. On their way, they encounter a cottage that belongs to a group of robbers and scare them away. They end up happily living there until the end of their life. This story has inspired a bronze statue in the historic city centre of Bremen.

Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten stammen aus einer Märchengeschichte der Gebrüder Grimm. Es erzählt die Geschichte von 4 alternden einheimischen Bauernhoftieren die nach ihrem harten Hofleben von ihren Besitzern vernachlässigt und gequält wurden. Sie machten sich auf Ihrem Weg und kamen zu einer Hütte, welche einer Gruppe von Räubern gehörten. Sie scheuchten diese fort und lebten dort glücklich und zufrieden bis and ihr Lebensende.

The Bremer Geschichtenhaus - The Bremen Story Telling House where the old historical stories and happenings were told in an interactive way with real persons, dressed to the ages and times. It felt being turned back in time with the anecdotes of a barrelmaker, the pest about the pest in 1916. We were told stories about the daily life of historic times and the busy life at the marketplace, the story about Gesche Gottfried and the last execution event. Some stories about the coffee and the trades, stories from a sailor/fisherman and a tailor woman. It was a really interesting and enjoyable life-tour through the history of Bremen.

Das Bremer Geschichtenhaus ist eine interessante kulturelle Erlebnisreise in die Vergangenheit. Es begann mit den Anekdoten einer Böttcherin, die Pest mit der Pest um 1916 und es wurden weitere Geschichten aus der alten Zeit erzählt, wie sich das tägliche Leben auf dem Markplatz abspielte, die Geschichte der Gesche Gottfried, die Hinrichtung, der Handel und der Kaffee, ein bisschen "Seemannsgarn" von einem Seefahrer der einst um die Welt reiste und eine Plauderei mit deiner Näherin. Es war wirklich eine Interessante Reise in die Bremer Geschichte.

Sellstedt Heimatort - childhood memory of Sellstedt home village

I was brought up in this little village of Sellstedt, in lower saxony. This little idyllic place has around 1900 residents and is one of the larger places in the area.

Ich bin in dieser kleinen idyllischen Dorfgemeinde Sellstedt aufgewachsen. Es liegt in Niedersachsen und hat ungefähr 1900 Einwohner und ist damit eines der größeren Ortschaften in der näheren Umgebung.
