Samstag

9:00 morgens 1.8 km ohne Neoprenanzug geschwommen (Meer ist ziemlich warm)
9am in the morning I swam 1.8km without wetsuit (the sea is pretty warm)

Dann die östlichen Strände und Buchten mit dem scooter abgefahren, hatte n leckeres Eis.
Afterwards I scooted along the eastern bays and beaches. Had an ice cream too.

Und zu Gracie anschließend und die Pferdeweide abgeäppelt.
And I went to see Gracie afterwards, I poop-scooped the horse paddock.

Ich habe beim second hand Laden ein Holzding entdeckt was gut als Wachtelhaus für die Federdamen geht. Eben anstreichen und sieht gut aus.

I stopped at a second hand OP Shop and found this small wooden stand. This looks just great as a suitable quail house. I took it and gave it a pain job to last. Looks ok.

Sonntag / Sunday

Morgens nach Maraetai zum Strand und mit dem paddle board schön auf dem glatten ruhigen Wasser entlang gepaddelt. Eher wohl kayaking da die dumme SUP Pumpe den Geist aufgegeben hatte und die Druckpumpe abgebrochen war.. Daher konnte ich es nur halb aufpumpen, gut genug als kayak dann..

In the morning I went to Maraetai Beach and took my Stand Up Paddle Board out for a ride on the water. I actually kayaked it as my damn pump snapped and broke and could only inflate it just to be working okish...

It was pretty busy there with plenty of people on boats, jet ski's, kayaks und Stand Up Paddleboards

Dann zum Pferd und meine Pferde Freundin nach langer Zeit mal wieder getroffen. Gracie und ihr Pferd hatten damals zusammen auf der Weide gestanden und war toll sie mal wieder zu treffen.

Then off to the horse and I met my horsey friend which I have not seen in ages. We had our horses grazing together probably 5 years ago. It was good to meet her again.

Anschließend wohlverdientes Eisbad bei 3-4 Grad hab ich 9 Minuten drin gesessen.
And at the end of the day I filled up my ice bath and got between 3-4 degrees Celsius. I sat in there for about 9 Minutes and felt great coming out.

Dann Marmelade gekocht, es ist Kiwibeere die man wohl kaum kennt. Schmeckt lecker, wie Kiwi aber weniger sauer und mehr beeriger.
Then I cooked jam with the Kiwiberries I found. They are a rare berry to have, tastes good! Similar to Kiwis but smoother less sour, more like berry.

 

Dann wird abends natürlich das kleine Vögelchen gewuschelt gekuschelt :)
Birdy cuddles at the end of the day :) A must have.

Cyclone Gabrielle - Zyklon Warnungen

Es ist mal wieder soweit: Schlechtes Wetter, aber dieses mal so richtig windig! Es wurden Wetterwarnungen mit einem annähernden Zyklon "Gabrielle" angekündigt.

Warum auch nicht, der Sommer war ja bislang nur Scheiße. Wie im Spätherbst (da ist es sicherlich besseres Wetter als dieser verdorbene Nicht-Sommer!)

Again: Very bad weather approaching with more severe wind.

Why not, really... this summer was broken and shit. Autumn would be even better than this weather. We have again severe warnings with an approaching cyclone "Gabrielle" and its on red alert again for the Auckland and Northland Region.

Damit ihr es euch ungefähr vorstellen könnt - ich wohne dort im grünen Kreis, in der roten Zyklon Zone. Als hätten wir nicht bereits genug schlechtes Wetter dieses Jahr!

Just so you can imagine - I live in the green circle which is in the red zone of the cyclone. As if we didnt get enough bad weather this year...

Scooter Tour vorm Sturm

Samstag, 11.2.2023 

Ich war mit meiner Schwimmgruppe wie immer beim Strand und anschliessen habe ich das meiste aus dem Samstag gemacht und bin mit dem Scooter in die Auckland Innenstadt gefahren, denn der Zyklon Sturm Gabrielle ist auf dem Weg zu Auckland und wird in den nächsten Tagen sein Unwetter treiben..

I swam with my regular swim group on Saturday morning and afterwards a nice ride on the scooter into the Auckland city before the cyclone Gabrielle hits us for more bad/severe weather warnings for the next few forecasted days.

I went along the Eastern Bays into the Auckland City Centre where I stopped at a fire busker

Regen Regen und noch mehr Regen... was macht man dann so... irgendwelchen komischen Kram in der Küche, wie zum Bleistift Heilsalben selber herstellen

Rain Rain and more Rain.. and what do you do in such weather.. cook and mix some unique healing creams in the kitchen such as this one.

Comfrey Balm

Es fing damit an das die Comfrey Pflanze zu ausgewuchert war und musste mal geschnitten werden. Ich finde ja nichts schlimmer als Verschwendung von guten Sachen, so auch die Nutzpflanze, hab dann mal nach recherchiert was gutes man damit herstellen kann. Es hat gute Heilnutzung und daher prima! Machen wir das mal.

I hate throwing stuff away and dont like to waste good things so I made this cream.

The trimmed Comfrey runtergeschnitten

100% natürliche Inhaltsstoffe
Compfrey Blätter, Spitzwegerichblätter, Sonnenblumenöl, Kokusnusöl, Honig, reines Aloe Vera, Carnauba/Bienenwachs
