18. & 25. Juni 2025 - BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL, AUCKLAND
Gestern war ich mit Alex, meiner Schwimmfreundin beim BANFF Film Festival in der Auckland Innenstadt. Wir hatten uns vorher noch getroffen um den Internationalen Sushi Tag mit einem gemeinsamen kurzen Abendessen zu genießen bevor wir zum Sky City Theater gingen.

Yesterday, Alex my swim friend and I met for the BANFF Film Festival in the Auckland CBD. But before we went to the venue, we chose to enjoy the International Sushi Day with a yummy quick dinner before we went to the Sky City Theatre.

es ist immer ein unwohler Gedanke dabei an Innenstadtparken zu denken. Es bedeutet begrenzter enger Raum, Bedenken mit der Sicherheit (nicht eingebrochen zu werden, durch dunkle Gassen gehen) und dann sehr hohe Preise zahlen für ein paar Stunden Auto abstellen.

Big City Auckland and little parking...
it always intimidates me to think about car parking in the centre of Auckland CBD with limited space available, often tiny park houses with safety concerns (not to get broken into and walking through dark corners) and then of course having high prices to pay for a few hours.
Es waren nur etwa 400m oder kurzer 7 Minuten Fußmarsch zum Ski City.

früher, so um 1900 waren es Pferdeställe. Da wir es beide mit Pferden haben, waren wir hier gelandet, ist dicht an der Veranstaltung dran und bietet ein vielseitiges Angebot an kulinarischen Speisen.

Banff ist ein Ort in Alberta und gehört dem Gebiet im Banff Nationalpark in Kanada an. Mit seinen 6,500 Quadratkilometern Parkland ist die Natur mit Wildtieren besiedelt, zu denen auch Elche und Grizzlybären beheimatet sind.

Also, wieder in der Innenstadt parken. Ich war bei dem selben Parkhaus in dem ich letzte Woche auch war. Es schien das einfachste und günstigste was relativ sicher ist und nur in paar hundert Meter zu fuss entfernt lag.

So, I drove again to the same car park where I parked last week. It seemed the best location and price and is relatively safe. Only a few hundred meters walking on foot and is quite a simple and affordable way.

Ich hatte noch etwas Zeit bis meine Freundin so weit war und wir trafen uns diesmal ein wenig später. Also ein bisschen Fussmarsch durch die City und mal sehen was es so zu sehen gibt.

I had a bit of time until I meet my friend later and used the opportunity to explore the city on foot for a little walking around town and see what's around to explore.

Das sind große Granitblöcke und dadrauf liegen Gegenstände die hervorragen und teil des Gesteins sind Rucksack, Jacke und Handschuh optisch integriert.... wie cool.

Dann ging ich weiter in Richtung Elliott St, dort sind Atrium Einkaufsplaza, Passagen und Innenstadt-Zonen mit Läden die es zu erkunden gab.
Then I continued towards Elliott Street, here are different shopping zones with the Atrium Plaza, a food court and different stres to expore.
Ob ihr sowas kennt? Dieses sind kleine weiche Saftkügelchen gefüllt mit verschiedenen süßen Geschmacksrichtungen, Fruchtsaft oder Limonade-ähnlicher Flüssigkeiten die gelartig sind. Diese platzen im Mund und es gibt eine Riesenauswahl, heisst Bubble Soda.
