Leben am anderen Ende der Welt: Mitbewohner ausgezogen!

Am Freitag, 14. Dezember gab es meine erste Erleichterung zum Ende des Jahres - Mein Mitbewohner ist ausgezogen und habe meine Wohnung nun ganz für mich!

On Friday the 14th December, a relief that my rather annoying flatmate moved out and I finally have my place to myself.

Ich hatte noch am Freitag morgen den Schlüsseldienst da um Schloss von der Haustür auswechseln zu lassen und einige Türen mussten repariert werden.

On the same day, I got the locksmith to change the front door locks and they repaired some internal doors too.

Ich hatte dem Schlüsseldienst diese Fotos geschickt, damit sie sich davon sprichwörtlich ein Bild machen können was ich meine und was gemacht werden muss.

I sent the locksmith these photos so they can an idea of what the job looks like when they come.

Ich hatte mich entschieden, mir ein neues Schlafsofa zuzulegen, denn das Bett war schon einige Jahre alt, aber die Matratze neu und vom letzten Jahr erst.

I decided to buy a new sofabed. I had the bed for years, but the mattress was relatively new and was purchased only last year.

Dann erstmal den dicken schweren Oschi von Bett samt Matratze aus dem Zimmer schaffen...

It was a massive straining effort to get the bed base with mattress out of the room myself...

Alle Möbelstücke vom Raum werde ich an einen Freund verschenken, dort sind sie gut aufgehoben.
All furniture items in the room are gifted to a friend of mine, and much needed.

Dann hatte ich erstmal den Kleiderschrank und den Flurschrank ausgeräumt - Staufächer die mein Mitbewohner nutzte. Leider musste ich feststellen, das 6 Kopfkissen und mehrere Laken, Kissenhüllen, Bettbezüge entweder einen schlechten Geruch hatten oder voll mit Schimmel waren.

Das einzige was ich retten konnte war meine teure 100% Woll-Bettdecke (die ich erstmal gut gewaschen und getrocknet hatte)

Die Fenstervorhänge mussten auch in die Tonne, stanken sehr schimmelig faul...

Leider musste ich auch schön im Müll rumwühlen, denn er hatte alle seine Sachen in die RecyclingTonne gestopft, und leider wird die so nicht abgeholt.

The first I did was clear up the wardrobe and the hallway cabinet. These were storage spaces the flatmate used and unfortunately, it smelled very mouldy and musty. I found that all the bedding items were ready for the bin. The bins also had to be cleared as he threw all his rubbish into the recycling bin and causing issues of not getting picked up like this. Great stuff.

The only thing I could save was the 100% Wool duvet which had a good wash and dry...

I bought a new comfy mattress topper at a discounted price!

Ich hatte mir auch einen größeren Teppich für den Raum zugelegt, um den häßlichen alten Zimmerteppich zu überdecken.

I also got a new area carpet for the room to hide the disgusting carpet that is similar age to me.

Dann erstmal das neue Schlafsofa zusammenbauen!

Passt gut, und dort wo der Teppich nicht ganz ausreicht wird eh noch was hingestellt. Das sieht man später nicht mehr.

Fits in well. The gaps where the area rug doesn't reach should be ok later as I will put some other items over and not too visible.

However, the new rug gives the room a totally new feel.

Das neu eingerichtete Zimmer hat eine ganz neues Gefühl.

so, dann hatte ich den Kram aufgebaut und wollte die riesigen Kartons kleinmachen, hatte ich mir doch blöd tief in den Arm geschnitten! N Selbstmord wäre jetzt nicht wirklich angebracht!

then, I had everything ready and was happy, folded and cut the cardbord down, and of course cut me in my arm. It was deep and I thought that its not a good time for a sudden suicide!
