Kippers Swim Trip to Rotoroa Island

Am Sonntag, 17. Dezember sind wir mit über 40 Schwimmern auf zum Rotoroa Island, eine Insel im Hauraki Hafen. Um 10:00 Uhr morgens ging es los mit 75 Minuten Überfahrt mit der Fähre von Auckland Downtown/Viaduct.

On Sunday the 17th December we went with over 40 swimmers from my regular swim group to Rotoroa Island, in the middle of the Hauraki Gulf. It was 75 Min on the ferry from the Auckland Downtown/Viaduct harbour leaving at 10am.

Ladies Bay

Unterm Tisch laufen die Wekas (fluglose Wandervögel) und sammeln runtergefallene Essensreste auf.
Under the table are the little Waka birds running and scanning the ground for some dropped food.

Swimmers for the circumnavigation of 6 km or the half around of 3km

Schwimmer die gesamt 6 km um die Insel herumschwimmen oder halb rum 3 km

Ich bin halb um die Insel herumgeschwommen. I swam half around the island.

Angekommen im Viaduct Hafen.

Nun zum Parkhaus und zurück nach Hause. Ich mache immer Fotos davon, wo ich geparkt habe. Nur um Nummer sicher zu gehen, dass ich mein Auto auch direkt wiederfinde.

I always take photos of where I parked in the rather large Downtown Car park.. this is a precaution to ensure that I definitely find back to my car and home :)
