Am Wochenende Mitte May war ich auf der Südinsel in Christchurch. Dort hatten sich wir-neuseeländische Islandpferdefreunde zusammengefunden um gemeinsam zu reiten, zu lachen, brunchen, essen, lernen und Spaß haben.
I spent the weekend mid May on the South Island in Christchurch. Here we met with like-minded friends of the Icelandic Horses to get together, to ride, lunch, brunch and dine and have fun.

Ankunft nach dem frühen Flug von Auckland
Wir wurden von einer gemeinsamen Freundin vom Flughafen Christchurch abgeholt. Jane und ich teilten uns ein 2-Bett Bungalow Studio im Top 10 Ferienpark. Es war sehr geräumig, gemütlich und warm und privat.
Arrival after the early flight from Auckland.
We met at the Christchurch Airport and were picked up by a mutual friend. Jane and I shared a 2 bedroom studio unit at the Top 10 Holiday Park Spencer Beach. It was a very nice cabin, warm and comfy and quite roomy.
Mein Zimmer (jeder von uns hatte solch einen Raum) also 1 Bett für mich und 1 Bett für meine Tasche!
Jeder von uns hatte sein eigenes Zimmer mit 2 Betten. Also, ein voll eingerichtetes Familienstudio; es könnten hier 4 Personen übernachten. Perfekt für uns beide wo jeder seine Privatsphäre hat.
Each of us had their own private bedroom. The self-contained family studio could sleep 4 people. Perfect for the 2 of us with their own privacy.
Der Ferienpark ist recht gross und wohl mehr belebt während der Sommermonate.
This Holiday Park is quite large and more popular during the summer months.
Erstmal eintreffen, versammeln, sich gegenseitig kennenlernen bei einem gemeinsamen Mittagessen. Dann gab es eine Tour über den Islandpferdehof und das Gestüt
Firstly, all arrived, get together over lunch to meet and greet and later we went for a farm tour to meet the horses and the stud.
Ein Seminar das gute Informationen und Lerneffekte gab wie man einen Sattel gut an das Pferd anpasst. Das Pferd fand es am Ende etwas langweilig :)
A seminar about saddle fitting and what to look for when you get a saddle for your horse. It was very informative and a good learning.
Ich hatte dann am morgen die Gelegenheit mein Leihpferd zu begrüßen. Lukka und ihr Fohlen Lina.

Ich hatte meinen ersten Kennenlern-Ritt mit Lukka meinen Leihpferd fürs Wochenende
I had my first ride with Lukka, my hire horse for the weekend. Good to get to know each other first.
Super Wetter, sogar die Sonne ließ sich teilweise blicken, aber es war eisig winding kalt.
The weather was quite nice and partially sunny, but the wind was icy cold.

Der Turniertag - The Competition Day
In dieser Prüfung, die verschiedenen Gangarten des Islandpferdes mussten klar und korrect geritten werden: Schritt, Trab, Tölt und Gallop. Es wurden entsprechende Wertnoten zu den Gangarten von den 2 Richtern vergeben.
In this class, the different gaits of the Icelandic horse are to be shown correctly: Walk, Trot, Tölt and Canter. For each of the performance of the gaits, a score was given by the judges.
Anschliessend eine kurze Pause bevor es zum Hindernisparcours ging.
Afterwards a short break before we come to the next obstacle course.

Lukka war ein tolles Pferd und hat gut mitgemacht. Naja ein wenig interessant hat sie es in der Tölt-Prüfung gemacht, aber etwas Hoppsala darf auch dabei sein :) Und hat viel Spass gemacht!
Lukka is a great companion and she's such a darling. Well... in the Tölt class there was a bit of oopsy daisy but we don't want to be boring. It was a little entertaining and actually fun!

Die noch verbleibenden Teilnehmer die sich plaziert hatten. Die meisten waren bereits abgereist da die Pferde müde waren und es am Ende des Tages etwas kalt und regnerisch wurde.
The remaining few participants of the competition day. Most of the participants had left already. Their horses were tired and the weather changed into a colder and slightly rainy afternoon.
Ich bin im nächsten Jahr auch wieder dabei!
