Winter swimming und Schwimmen im Nebel

Der August ist da und somit auch der kälteste Monat im Winter...

Dennoch trozt der kalten Temperaturen bin ich regelmässig ein paar mal die Woche im Meer schwimmen, und derzeit hab ich sogar den Neoprenanzug zur Seite gelegt und mich entschieden mal extrem in Badeanzug schwimmen zu gehen. Man wird doch immer wieder belohnt mit den den abendlichen schönen Sonnenuntergängen so kurz for 18 Uhr.

The August has arrived and gives us the coldest month of the winter time..

Despite winter and its temperatures, I am still swimming in the sea on a regular basis a couple to times a week. I have even gone further into extremes and put the wetsuit aside and decided to swim in just togs. The reward is definitely there with the evening sunsets just before 6pm.

Wassertemperaturen liegen so um die 12-14 Grad C

Dann am Samstag morgen unser reguläres Schwimmtreffen - tja.. ist wohl etwas nebelig!
Geschwommen sind wir trotzdem mit der Schwimmgruppe. Einer hatte sogar einen Kompass dabei

This Saturday morning at our regular swim meet at the beach... little bit foggy today!

But we swam anyways and one of our swimmers even provided us with a compass!

Das Wasser war so klar, dass ich mich an den Muscheln am Meeresboden orientiert habe. Ich dachte mir, solange ich den Boden sehen kann bin ich nicht weit raus und finde den Weg zurück zum Strand, da ich mich nicht gerne auf andere verlasse. Dies hat gut funktioniert und wir hatten niemanden unterwegs verloren (ausser 2 Schwimmer die dann irgendwann wieder aufgetaucht sind).

The water was clear and my approach was to get orientation by the shells on the bottom of the sea. As long as I could see them I was not far out and cold then find my way back to the beach line :) You cant rely on people.. so this works fine. Just to mention that we actually didn't loose anyone, well, except for 2 swimmers who swam in the wrong direction and suddenly appeared again. 

It was an amazing experience to swim in such dense fog this morning. It certainly messes with your perception if you are not prepared and observant.

Es war eine aussergewöhnliche Erfahrung mal in solch einem dichten Nebel zu schwimmen. Es verwirrt auf jeden Fall die Wahrnehmung und ich sehe die Gefahr wenn man nicht vorbereitet und aufmerksam ist.
