Auckland Viaduct, Wynyard Quarter & Whale Tales galore

It was such a nice and sunny Sunday that invited me for a scooter ride through the Auckland Harbor. Today is the final day for ALL Whale Tale Sculptures as they get displayed in the Silo Park of the Wynyard Quarter before they are getting auctioned for charity. This was a good excuse to check this out and take a closer look.

The Viaduct Harbor

The City of Sails macht hier ganz ihren Namen

fasst angekommen - almost there. I can see the whale tales from the distance

My Suburb Old Papatoetoe - das ist mein Stadtteil

And here they are!
I think it was over 160 whale art objects ready for the auction. Some the Whale fins were already sold for big bucks between 5.000 - 15.000 NZD!

Here in the front of the photo is a whale fin missing, this one found already a new owner.

This is the "Dreamweaver" my favourite. It shows a whale which holds its breath as part of ocean pollution and human interference with the nature.
