Es hatte sich angeboten eine kleine Autotour zu machen, etwa 5 Std sued-westlich nach Taranaki/New Plymouth da ich noch nicht dort war.
Ich hatte mir 4 Tage frei genommen da es am Montag ein Feiertag war und ich sah es als eine gute Gelegenheit mal rauszukommen.
Der erste Tag der kurzen Reise war noch ganz gut, sobald ich aber dann fasst am Zielort war hatte es 4 Tage durchgaengig geregnet.

It was just good timing to decide for a little road trip to Taranaki/New Plymouth as the Monday was a public holiday and I haven't been in this area before. So why not packing up and enjoy the scenery.
Unfortunately, I was not very lucky with the weather as the day 1 was still nice and mild, but then after just before the holiday destination it was rainy daily and limited the travel plans for the day(s)
The photos were either taken on the way to New Plymouth or when it was just not raining right now.
Ich hatte ein tolles Studiozimmer fuer die Nacht gemietet. Es ist die halbe Autostrecke und hatte mir vorgenommen den naechsten Tag zum nahegelegenen Kiwi Vogelpark zu gehen dort ist eine Kiwi vogel Aufzuchtstation. Liegt ja auf dem Weg
I booked a self contained studio room in Otorohanga which was at the half way marker to Taranaki. And it was handy for the next day when I planned to visit the nearby Kiwi bird sanctuary and breeding station
um diese Aussicht zu bekommen muss man sich etwas anstrengen denn es geht den Berg hoch an sehr steilen Ketten an denen man sich hochziehen kann

to get to this view you need to make an effort along these support chains for climbing up the steep hill

Dies ist ein Phaenomen - Taranaki hat einen Mount Egmont, einen riesigen Kraterberg von erstaunlichen 2500m Hoehe. War ich doch da und hab den Berg nicht sehen koennen vor schlecht Wetter und Wolken!
This is a real phaenomenon - going to Taranaki which was an impressive 2500m peak Mount Egmont and it was just too cloudy and dense fog to NOT see the mount at all!
Dann wurde halt eine Waldwanderung gemacht

Ein sehr ausgefallenes Gebauede in New Plymouth Stadtmitte/Ortsmitte - sehr ungewoehnlich anzusehen
