Da ja nun offiziell der Neuseelaendische Winter eintrudelt, habe ich Gracie eine neue Canvas-Pferdedecke gekauft. Damit sie schoen warm und trocken bleibt, haben wir sie auch gleich anprobiert.

Now it is officially feeling like the NZ winter is approaching - time for a new cover for Gracie. Just to make sure she is dry and warm when the terrible wet weather kicks in (sooon) and we had already a teaser with the recent weather conditions and rainfall...
A bit too early in my opinion, but well.. we are prepared now and the hay shed is packed to the roof top with lots of hay for her.

After her daily grooming and hugs, she got fed and went back to her paddock. I am keeping a good system on her paddock. I would like her to have some grass all winter and try my best to keep it tidy with the strip grazing and pooper-scooper round every other night. She is getting a couple of meter grass (and some hay) every night and this hopefully saves the grass to last longer.

Dann ging es wieder auf die Weide und rate mal... pooper scooper! Pferdeaeppel absammeln, ansonsten wird die Weide total vollgeschissen und das wollen wir ja nich..
Hab dann auch gleich ein paar Meter weiter abgesteckt, denn Gracie bekommt taeglich ein paar Meter Grass, da ich sonst nicht genug fuer den Winter habe. Leider wird ja die Weide immer ordentlich durchgetrampelt und mit dem Abtrennen der Weideteile versuche ich das alles im Auge zu behalten.
Man kann die Grassnarbe etwas erkennen, denn ich habe grade ein paar Meter weiter aufgemacht.
Dann wurde es langsam dunkel und ein schoener Sonnenuntergang bot sich an.
